Maple Hayes Hall School Uniform Policy
At Maple Hayes Hall School, we believe that a uniform promotes a sense of belonging and pride among our pupils. It supports our ethos of kindness, respect, and community while fostering an environment conducive to learning. This policy outlines the expectations regarding school uniform and aims to ensure that all pupils are dressed appropriately for school.

Uniform Requirements
General Uniform
All pupils are required to wear the following items:
Boys
MH Grey Blazer (with badge embroidered on)
MH Navy trousers (with embroidered school logo)
MH Grey V neck jumper with border
White shirts (not a fashion shirt)
School Tie
Black socks (no pattern or ribbing)
Black school shoes (without decoration; not fashion shoes, trainers, trainer style shoes or boots)
Girls
MH Grey Blazer (with badge embroidered on)
MH Kilt skirt - length no less than under knee
MH Navy trousers (with embroidered school logo)
MH Grey V neck jumper with border
White shirt (not a fashion shirt)
School Tie
Black opaque tights (no pattern or ribbing) OR black knee high (but not over the knee) socks OR black ankle socks (no pattern, ribbing, ribbons and not trainer socks)
Flat black school shoes (without decoration; not fashion shoes, trainers, trainer style shoes or boots)
PE Kit
For physical education, pupils are required to wear:
Games:
Towel for showering after Games
Bag to hold boots and sports wear
MH ¼ zip training top
MH Polo shirt
MH Shorts
MH Navy/sky blue football socks
Football boots
Shin-pads
Running trainers
Gym:
Towel for showering after Gym
White plimsolls or tennis shoe (no logos or motifs)
Swimming:
Towel
Swimming costume/trunks (no bikinis allowed)
Swimming cap
Bag to transport equipment
Goggles - Please note that pupils will need permission to wear goggles during swimming lessons. Parents must complete a permission slip available from the school office prior to swimming lessons taking place.
Accessories
Bags: 1 Briefcase or briefcase style bag (not a holdall, shoulder bag or handbag/fashion bag) in which to keep classroom equipment.
Jewellery: Jewellery is not permitted, except for a wrist watch (no smart/web enabled watches are allowed).
Hair: Hair must be neat and tidy. Extreme haircuts, colouring, hair extensions and styles are not permitted.
Make-up/Nails: Make-up, false or acrylic nails and nail varnish are not allowed.
Equipment for the Classroom Coloured pencils, ordinary pencils, fountain pens, red ball point pen, pencil case, ruler, and calculator (for Yr 7 and above).
Expectations Compliance
All pupils are expected to wear the correct uniform every day.
Labelling: All items of clothing should be clearly labelled with the pupil's name.
Skirts: Skirts should be knee length.
Shirts: Shirts and blouses should be tucked in.
Belts: Belts should be plain black with a traditional style buckle.
Blazers: School blazers should be worn, with all buttons fastened on shirts and the tie knotted up to the collar or clipped to the collar correctly.
Outdoor coats: Pupils may wear a plain black coat, which must be removed once entering the school building.
Vests: A plain, white t-shirt or vest may be worn under shirts but must not be visible.
Enforcement Monitoring
Staff will regularly monitor compliance with the uniform policy. Pupils who do not adhere to the policy will be reminded of the expectations.
Support
If a pupil is unable to comply with the uniform policy due to financial constraints, parents are encouraged to contact the school for support.
