Welcome
Maple Hayes Hall School
Maple Hayes is a specialist school for children age 7 to 17 with Specific Learning Difficulties/ Dyslexia and is approved under section 41 of the 2014 Children & Families Act as an independent special school regulated by the EFA (Education Funding Agency) to receive funding by Local Authorities under their ‘local offer’.
Entry is by an assessment, interview and free trial week.
Welcome
Maple Hayes has the reputation of being a caring and friendly school where no one should feel lost and insignificant. When previous education has been traumatic, a parent can be forgiven for saying ‘I only want my child to be happy’, but I feel that a good school has the responsibility for the education of the whole person in a purposeful, structured, and well-disciplined environment where staff know the individual, encouraging pupils to take pride in all they do and the results they achieve, at whatever level of their ability.
Young people welcome a challenge and in responding to it they often discover qualities and talents that had not previously been apparent. High standards of courtesy and respect are expected of our pupils and by involving them in areas of responsibility we encourage the development of self-discipline.
All pupils have EHC plans and are placed by 16 Midlands Local Authorities. Most placements are made in Years 5 to 7. The school is inspected by Ofsted and specialises in a unique morphological approach to literacy learning for those who have failed to progress adequately with conventional rote phonics and the morphological programme is uniquely and fully integrated by trained staff into a balanced academic curriculum.
No prospectus can convey the atmosphere of the school. It can only give a summary of the varied activities which make up school life. It is essential that you and your child visit the school and see for yourselves.

Yours sincerely

Headteacher’s Welcome
At Maple Hayes Hall School, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of children with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. As an independent special school, we are committed to providing an enriching educational experience that encourages the growth of self-esteem, self-confidence, and academic achievement.
Our school is built on a foundation of kindness, respect, and a strong sense of community. We believe that by fostering these values, we can empower our pupils to become curious, creative, and persevering lifelong learners.
We recognise that each child has unique strengths and needs, and we strive to tailor our approach to support their individual development. Through the use of morphemes (meaning) and icons, we provide a fresh start in the acquisition of literacy, while also prioritising personal growth and the development of essential skills for success.
At Maple Hayes Hall School, we have the highest aspirations for our pupils. We encourage them to actively engage in a range of opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom, to develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence. Our dedicated team of educators and support staff work tirelessly to ensure that every child is given the tools they need to thrive.
We are committed to equipping our pupils with the skills and mindset to lead happy and successful lives. By the time they leave us, our pupils will be ready to make a positive contribution to their local community and beyond, armed with the desire to continue learning and growing.
If you are a parent or prospective pupil looking for a school that will nurture your child's potential and help them reach new heights, we warmly invite you to explore Maple Hayes Hall School further.
